What to Expect
Worship
Our Sunday services are from the Anglican tradition, in contemporary language. We almost always have communion. Music is a mix of contemporary and traditional. Prayers for healing are offered regularly.
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. There is no need to dress up; children are welcome and we understand that they aren’t given to sitting quietly in church. We provide an area in the sanctuary where kids can colour or look at books with their parents nearby. There is a children’s program at St. James and parents are invited to bring their children to the parish hall before the service starts to meet the teachers.
At the entrance to the sanctuary, you will find a place to write down the names of people or a concern you’d like included in the prayers of the people.
If you would like a follow-up visit or conversation with the priest, please fill out one of the cards in the pew and give it to one of the greeters or to the priest, or place it on the collection plate.
Midweek Services
We meet for morning prayer on Wednesday at 11 am at Christ Church in Coboconk. This informal service includes conversation about the readings of the day. The service is followed by a potluck lunch.
